New Year. New Me. New Cycle

it has been such a long time since I wrote about anything fertility related!

We have been on such a journey the last few years that I need to document it again.

Sadly since I stopped writing no baby has made it into our lives.

I was very overweight so it was time to work on me.

I had gastric sleeve surgery and lost over 50kg. I've never been in better shape. I'm healthier and loving life. My DH has been nothing but supportive and now we are ready to continue on our journey.

I thought that perhaps weight loss would help me get pregnant but unfortunately that was not the case.

It took a huge amount of courage to phone my specialist for an appointment. I actually picked up and hug up the phone 3 times before actually dialing the number.

My Dr was amazing. He straight away stated me on a tracking cycle to see what my hormones were doing and he ordered ultrasounds, a HSG and a battery of blood tests.

This went on for a month ...........

Results day!!!!!

I have known for a long time that things were not right with my body. I was always in extreme pain during my period and it was always very heavy. I wasn't sure if this was normal or not.

As it turns out no it's not normal and I was finally diagnosed with "Andomyosis" which was described to me as the evil step sister of endometriosis.

The HSG showed my right side was completely blocked and that I has polyps and fibroids again.

So first protocol was to have another Laproscopy and get this taken care of.

1 week later, December 16 2015, I was in surgery.

Fast forward to out of surgery, recovery room Dr visit.

I just love my specialist. He has he best sense of humor and I get him and he gets me. He walked into recovery laughing at me and throwing his hands in the air. He couldn't believe what he had found while he had me under.

The good news there were no polyps or fibroids or endometriosis - fantastic.

BUT

What he did find was intrauterine Adhesions.
My uterus cavity - which is already small was completely closed with these Adhesions.
Well these adhesions were so tough that when he went to cut and remove them they immediately re-adhered. He had to insert an IUD to keep it open and heal.

So first measure was to keep in the IUD for 2 cycles and the we will remove it and start treatment.

And now here we are IUD has been removed and we are starting an Ovulation Induction with timed BDing cycle.

So here we go again. Let's hope the weightless helps move things right along.
