Boom boom boom

So what's in order for this weekend??

Well well well.

26 February 2016

Dear

Your results today show you are ready to ovulate.

Your blood results from today were:
Estrogen (E2): 1650
Lutenizing Hormone (LH): 15
Progesterone (P4): <1

Please take your: OVIDREL 250 TRIGGER TONIGHT @ 8PM
***NO MORE GONALF AFTER TODAY ******

Now is the time to start trying to conceive (have unprotected intercourse) with your partner tonight, tomorrow and following day.

Boosts (Ovidrel '6 clicks'): 1ST , 4TH AND 7TH OF MARCH
Your boost injections contain HCG, the same hormone a pregnancy produces. Due to this, home pregnancy tests may give a false positive if done within a week of the last boost injection. We advise that you wait your blood test to ensure accuracy of results

Special instructions: YOU HAVE 2 DOMINANT FOLLICLES 1 ON EACH SIDE. HOWEVER YOUR RIGHT SIDE IS BLOCKED. THERE IS STILL A RISK OF A MULTIPLE PREGNANCY ALTHOUGH THE RISK IS VERY SMALL.

So a little boom boom boom

Clothing issues

1st world fertility problems!
Wearing a dress - need to take my Gonal-f.
Why did I even get dressed this morning!

Things are moving along nicely

Yesterday I had my second blood test. I've been on Gonal-f since Saturday and my blood results are indicating that I am close to ovulation.

My blood work indicated:

25 February 2016

Your hormone levels from today were as follows:
Estrogen (E2) : 1050
Lutenizing Hormone (LH):   4.8
Progesterone (P4): 1.1

These bloods show: ESTROGEN IS RISING VERY WELL - LOOKING CLOSE TO OVULATION

Please continue your medications: GONAL F 37.5 DAILY

Your next BLOOD TEST: TOMORROW 26/2/16
Please attend ULTRASOUND:  TOMORROW 26/2/16 AT 9.00AM

So this morning I'm off for another blood testcard internal ultrasound. They will see if I have any little follicles growing, which ovary and how many on each ovary.

We are hoping to have at least 1 on my left side. My right tube is blocked so we need to ensure that my left is producing well.

I'm going tinted and sneak a few photos of my ultrasound today.

My stomach is quiet bloated so I'm hoping things are moving along quiet well  in there.

Cycle day 5 - the drugs are taking hold

37.5
37.5
37.5

Same time every morning.

That I don't mind and it doesn't hurt but today-------

I feel like my head is about to explode. I've had a headache for 2 days now and I'm not sure if it's he weather or the Gonal -f?

And I feel exhausted.

I don't have my next blood test until Thursday so it will be interesting to see how my levels are doing.

This is all fun and games and its feels like I'm on the right path.

Day 3 - Adenomyosis

In December 2015 I was diagnosed with Adenomyosis (still learning how to spell and say it)!

Getting this diagnosis was actually a relief for me. For years I had battled sever pain before, during and after menstruation. My periods were so heavy that I would need to wear double protection (tampon and pad).

But like many women we just keep going on thinking that what we are experiencing is 'normal'. Everyone gets cramps -
Everyone has heavy flow days -
Its all in my head -
Its not that bad -
Its normal to buy 5 boxes of super heavy duty tampons each month -

Well funny enough it isn't normal!

This is how the Mayo Clinic explains Adenomyosis

Day 2 - Bloods and Drugs

Boy how some things have changed since I last went through this.

Picked up my scripts and had an education session with the nurse on how to administer the drugs.

I'm going to be using Gonal-f and Overdril for my trigger shot.

I was jumping out of my seat with excitement when I got my scripts. Now I'm just waiting in line for my bloods and I just can't wait to get on with this.

This time is going to be different I can feel it

CD 1: 19th February 2016

Waiting for a new cycle to start and of course my AF is 3 days late. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

It finally came today so first up this morning is a phone call to the clinic too Than use day 2 bloods and drugs.

I couldn't be more excited. DH is coming along with me in the morning. I forgot how to inject myself. I need a little encouragement.

I know the nurses will show me everything in the morning.

I feel so much happier at my new clinic. I feel like a person not a number.

Here to day 2!!!

New Year. New Me. New Cycle

it has been such a long time since I wrote about anything fertility related!

We have been on such a journey the last few years that I need to document it again.

Sadly since I stopped writing no baby has made it into our lives.

I was very overweight so it was time to work on me.

I had gastric sleeve surgery and lost over 50kg. I've never been in better shape. I'm healthier and loving life. My DH has been nothing but supportive and now we are ready to continue on our journey.

I thought that perhaps weight loss would help me get pregnant but unfortunately that was not the case.

It took a huge amount of courage to phone my specialist for an appointment. I actually picked up and hug up the phone 3 times before actually dialing the number.

My Dr was amazing. He straight away stated me on a tracking cycle to see what my hormones were doing and he ordered ultrasounds, a HSG and a battery of blood tests.

This went on for a month ...........

Results day!!!!!

I have known for a long time that things were not right with my body. I was always in extreme pain during my period and it was always very heavy. I wasn't sure if this was normal or not.

As it turns out no it's not normal and I was finally diagnosed with "Andomyosis" which was described to me as the evil step sister of endometriosis.

The HSG showed my right side was completely blocked and that I has polyps and fibroids again.

So first protocol was to have another Laproscopy and get this taken care of.

1 week later, December 16 2015, I was in surgery.

Fast forward to out of surgery, recovery room Dr visit.

I just love my specialist. He has he best sense of humor and I get him and he gets me. He walked into recovery laughing at me and throwing his hands in the air. He couldn't believe what he had found while he had me under.

The good news there were no polyps or fibroids or endometriosis - fantastic.

BUT

What he did find was intrauterine Adhesions.
My uterus cavity - which is already small was completely closed with these Adhesions.
Well these adhesions were so tough that when he went to cut and remove them they immediately re-adhered. He had to insert an IUD to keep it open and heal.

So first measure was to keep in the IUD for 2 cycles and the we will remove it and start treatment.

And now here we are IUD has been removed and we are starting an Ovulation Induction with timed BDing cycle.

So here we go again. Let's hope the weightless helps move things right along.
